Being one of the eldest self-governing law universities in the US, the New York Law School was instituted in 1891 by the alumni, faculty and students of Columbia College Law School, headed by their instituting dean, Theodore Dwight, who was a main figure in the past of law study.

NY Law School is located in lower Manhattan, in the middle of the country’s biggest concentration of administration organizations, law firms, courts, banks, security exchanges and corporate headquarters.

Moreover, since the fall semester of 2003, the Law School started offering the advanced training known as LL.M. (Master of Laws) in Taxation, making it one of the only 2 law institutions in the NY area to offer this kind of program for taxing attorneys. What’s more, in 2009, the School also added to its list an LL.M. in Financial Services Law and Real Estate as well as a M.A. (Master of Arts) in Mental Disability Law Studies.
